ESOL Classes
ESOL (English to Speakers of Other Languages) program was designed to meet the needs of adults for whom English is not their dominant language. The goal of ESOL classes is to prepare the students for success in society through cultural development and English language proficiency in listening, writing, speaking and reading. This program has been specifically curated to improve the literacy abilities of individuals belonging to the ROMA community, thereby empowering them for greater success in both their daily endeavours and potential employment opportunities. This course is exclusively available for adult participants and is conducted in person at our Community centre every Friday afternoon.

Food Banks
Food banks are typically used by people who struggle to access sufficient quantities of safe and affordable food on a regular basis. Davren Community Solutions provides food pantries which include traditional grocery products for preparing and consuming at home. Food pantries/parcels can be collected on a weekly basis directly from our Community Centre. We provide food banks to families that are in need, who are struggling financially and cannot provide for their families.

Music & Dance Lessons
The importance of music in our society, whether for personal well-being, community cohesion, artistic expression, or career development, is self-evident, and holds particular significance for ROMA families, as demonstrated by the regular music sessions held at our Community Centre every Monday and Wednesday, where children between the ages of 8 and 17 are taught traditional ROMA music on guitars and pianos.
Dance lessons are a highly favoured activity for young girls, particularly those of the ROMA community who take pride in their traditional dance and attire, often showcasing their unique choreography at school gatherings and larger cultural celebrations.
To enroll your child in a music or dance lesson, kindly reach out to us at 01422 800 293 to procure an application form.

Football Sessions
It is imperative for our youthful Roma adolescents to remain engaged in physical activity. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, many individuals became accustomed to the lack of social interaction. Our football sessions serve as a means to unite the Roma community and foster strong connections within it. These sessions take place twice a month on Saturdays at 17:00 at Halifax Indoor Football Centre, located at:
Mills Shaw, The Clock Tower, Shaw Ln, Halifax HX3 9ET.
